"Light in the Darkness" was an experiment aimed at just how short one could write a fantasy short story; someday I might do more with it. "Stars Within the Glass" arose after a colleague's suicide. It explores the finality and spiritual dimension of taking one's own life. "Into the Darkness" had been intended as a subplot within my debut novel, The Blood Cries Out, but the historical subplot idea was discarded to make for a more streamlined read.
